Winter into Spring

*Updated*

We’ve been on the hunt for signs of spring, and last week we finally found some! I’ve never noticed ducks with their tail feathers curled like this before.  Maybe a new style they picked up on their southern sojourns:) *curled tail feathers are a distinctive characteristic of male mallard ducks – thank you Lauaralin:)*

God Will Take Care of You

Here’s a big strong dose of encouragement for the day!

It’s not long.

It’s not a talk.

It’s verry cute.

Thanksgiving 2010

New York

On this wonderful weekend in November I:

-gloried in a golden friendship {Lauralin and I grew up in Ecuador together and have been friends for 30 something years}

-finally met some children I have always loved and then loved them even more {her precious nieces and nephews}

-reveled in sweet fellowship and amazing food at an Ecuadorian restaurant {loved spending time with her family!}

-spent most of a day at Wave Hill, a glorious 28 acre “secret garden” in the middle of the Bronx

-was amazed again at the melodious sound of the languages of the world embracing each other in the streets

-cried when I saw Lady Liberty

-shopped for papers at a beautiful Paperie

I had such a golden birthday weekend, complete with a romantic getaway (to our own house sans kids!), a gorgeous Japanese Maple present, a gluten free cookie cake, and a fun, fun, night with family:)

King of Kings

Here’s a perfect way to start the season!

From Youtube: “On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation’s “Random Acts of Culture” at Macy’s in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ – the world’s largest pipe organ – the OCP Chorus and throngs of singers from the community infiltrated the store as shoppers, and burst into a pop-up rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s “Messiah” at 12 noon, to the delight of surprised shoppers.”
